The  Michi Raggio di Sole Onlus association was born on the 29th September 2014 with the purpose of fighting infant and adolescent cancer. The name was chosen in memory of Michela Vecchietti by her family, her friends, her doctors and her teachers. Michela was a beautiful and bright child who passed away when she was only 6 years old. The pain for this loss has slowly turned into a strong action of solidarity, so that the sunrays that were always in Michela’s drawings could ideally embrace every child or adolescent struck by cancer and, through daily support to research, could also give any hope of recovery.

Our activity supports the Paediatric Oncological Department of the National Oncological Institute in Milan, which is one of the biggest research centres and treatment in the field of cancer.

The association also supports different projects, including research, treatment and diagnosis of neuroblastoma, which affected Michela.

The research against infant cancers has a double purpose: to cure children and adolescents, and also to try to improve the quality of life of these little patients.

By doing this,we not only support projects of study and research, but also any activity which helps patients and their families during the last stages of the disease.

"We can’t win infant cancer or defeat it yet, but, together, we can shorten the distance between pain and hope."
